Recipe for festive fruit pots from Jamie Oliver
For Christmas we have made these festive fruit pots. You can find this recipe in Jamie’s latest book‘Everyday Super Food‘. It’s healthy, tasty and easy to prepare. We even prepared them 2 days in advance. These pots with lids are easy to keep in the fridge until use. For toppings you can use whatever you fancy. We have used pieces of pear and marshmallows, for decoration we have sprinkled some cocoa powder on top. For sweetener we have used a little bit vanilla extract and honey.
Recipe for 4 festive fruit pots
- 300 ml cooled unsweetened almond milkjuice
- 60 g chia seeds
- 150 g fruit can also be frozen
- 1/2 tbs vanilla extract, sweetener, (or honey, that is what we have used)
- a splash of lemon juice
- 2 small bananas
- a blender
- 4 jars
Peel 1 banana, break into pieces and put into the blender. Add the vanilla extract and 1/2 of the almond milk. Blend until it is smooth. Pour everything into a bowl and add 1/2 of the amount of the chai seeds. Divide everything into the 4 jars and put them into the fridge. Throw all the fruit (don’t forget the banana) into the blender and the other 1/2 of the almond milk and a splash of lemon juice. Blend until it is smooth. Throw it all into a can and pour it very carefully over the back of a spoon onto the mixture into the 4 jars. It has to look like you two have layers into the jar (see photos). Put them back into to the fridge for at least a couple of hours or till use. You can use them till 3 days after preparation.
